Where have all the men gone?

MONIFIETH Singers is a 40-strong choir of mixed voices. It was founded in 1973 and, happily, is continuing to thrive albeit with an older membership.

The choir is now a few weeks into the autumn session and has made a good start to the programme. It has welcomed some new ladies but, as it appears in common with most mixed choirs, a shortage of men is of concern.

The choir meets on Thursday evenings in the Gerard Hall, Church Street, Monifieth, between mid-August to the end of March under the baton of musical director, Misia Paul.

A warm welcome awaits new members, ladies and gentlemen, but especially the latter. There is no formal audition, but merely a basic knowledge of reading and a good ear.

Come along for two hours enjoyment with good company.
