The twinkling lights of Christmas are coming to life in Arbroath and this year you can be part of the iconic moment.
The Arbroath Herald and Guide and Gazette have teamed up with the organisers to find a community spirited person to hold the prestigious honour of switching on the town’s lights.
If you would like to nominate someone who you think should be recognised and is deserving of this opportunity, please send us an email or drop in a note letting us know their name, contact details and why you think they should be chosen.
Nominations need to be sent in by November 21 and the winner will be announced in the print edition on November 28.
The Christmas Parade and light switch-on will take place on December 5.
A torchilight procession will start at the Abbey and wind its way down the High Street to Kirk Square.
There will be special musical performances by the Arbroath Male Voice Choir, Arbroath Choral Society and the Carnoustie Brass Band as well as Community carol singing in the square.
If you would like to join the procession, candles will be available for a donation from Outdoor Action.
As the High Street will be restricted to allow for the parade, charities, retailers and other organisations are invited to hire a stall during the event.
There is only a limited number of stalls and they must be booked through Chic Grant at Outdoor Action. Please contact Chic on 01241 430400 to arrange before Monday, December 1.
Although alternative arrangements are being sought but in the event of severe weather the parade will have to be cancelled.
Please send your nominations for the Christmas light switch-on to email@example.com by November 21.
