The National Youth Choir of Scotland (NYCoS) is hoping to hit the right notes by appealing to local children to join their Angus area choir.
Led by expert staff, the NYCoS Angus Choir provides great singing experiences that are both fun and develop musical skills.
Taking part also provides a fantastic opportunity to make new friends, boost confidence, perform as part of a group and gain skills for life.
And now the group is inviting local children aged primary three and four to attend a free recruitment workshop, to last half an hour in Carnoustie on Thursday, June 13.
A further workshop will also be held in Forfar on Thursday, June 20.
The workshops will allow children to try out some rhyme and singing games and get to know the other children.
Recently, the NYCoS Angus Choir featured as special guests at the Angus Schools’ Senior Concert.
This, their debut performance at the Webster Memorial Theatre in Arbroath, was a resounding success and the children sang and performed beautifully.
The received fantastic applause from the audience, which left all choir members and staff feeling very proud of their achievements.
Choir director Ian Young said: “We were so delighted to perform at the recent Angus Senior Schools Concert in Arbroath where our songs were well received by an enthusiastic audience.
“We look forward to our next concert which will be at Forfar Academy in June.”
To get more information and sign up for a workshop go to www.nycos.co.uk/area-choirs - closing date for applications is May 31.
The choir is now in its third year and is continuing to grow.
They encourage singing in young people from those at birth to young people aged up to 24.
