Youngsters gearing up for GP test

LOCAL youths will take part in an international motorcycle racing event.

Members of the Hedz Up race team will be on the grid at the Manx GP later this month.

Pupils aged 14 to 16 from Arbroath Academy and Carnoustie High work as members of the Hedz Up crew at Knockhill and East Fortune. They are involved in every part of running a race team.

Main sponsor Diageo and pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline are supporting the event, with the trip expected to cost in the region of £7,500.

Hedz Up was established a couple of years ago to encourage the youngsters’ personal development and life skills.
