THE FOUR Club Challenge involves members of Carnoustie West End, Barnhill, Monifieth and Carnoustie Bowling Clubs getting together fortnightly on a Thursday evening for games such as carpet bowls, darts, dominoes, connect 4, putting and pool - with a little something to eat later in the evening.

On Thursday Carnoustie West End played host to Monifieth. The overall points were shared at 48 each so a tie-break was needed to settle the result.

And the game decided for this important decision was 'pin the tail on the donkey'.

The ultimate result was eventually, by majority decision, given to Carnoustie West End who got the tail nearest to the proper spot.

The difficulty factor was added to by a decision by the organisers of the tie-break to hold the donkey upside down - as you can see below!
