West of Scotland v Forfarshire
Saturday saw the only cricket of the weekend as Forfarshire travelled to Hamilton Crescent to play West of Scotland in the Lloyds TSB Scotland League Division 1.
West were asked to bat first on the wet wicket and five consecutive maidens in a tight opening spell from Graeme Quinn saw the home openers struggle to keep the scoreboard moving.

The run-rate increased when pro G. Robinson, 59, and I. Young, 39, came together in the middle-order and West eventually finished on 198 for nine from their 50 overs.

'Shire's reply started poorly and from 19 for two after 12 overs, wickets continued to fall regularly, leaving it to the last pair Graeme Black and Graeme Quinn to take the visitors' score into three figures.

This weekend's fixtures:

Tomorrow (Saturday) - Forfarshire v Penicuik, Lloyds TSB Scotland League Division 1; Strathmore v Forthill, Dukes Strathmore and Perthshire Union Premier Division.

Sunday - St Modan's v Forthill XI, Dukes Strathmore and Perthshire Union Division 1.
