With the warmer weather recently, the fish in Carlogie Dam have been going deeper in the water during the day, but have been rising well in the evenings when it cools down.
Top flies are still buzzers, hare's ears, diawl bach, cdc's and dries.
Several local anglers have been successful this week on catch-and-release tickets, none more so than Frank Ferrier, Arbroath, who returned 21.

Other Arbroath anglers with good returns were G. Russell, Mark Gammie, Chris Hobson and George Smith, who put back eight, six, five and four respectively.

Dave Thoms, Carnoustie; Dave Roy, Broughty Ferry;, John Orr, Carnoustie; and Brian Armstrong, Broughty Ferry, caught-and-released seven, six five and three respectively.

Fife angler B. Sutherland had this week's heaviest bag with four for 10 pounds four ounces and eight caught-and-released.

Stuart Falconer, Arbroath, had two for nine pounds eight ounces and five caught-and-released; and Mike Black, Carnoustie, two for five pounds and one caught-and-released.

The competition for The A.C. Sturrock Pairs Trophy is this Sunday, August 10, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
