The competition for the Bob Wallace Trophy was held at Carlogie Dam on Sunday. In wet, overcast conditions, nine anglers caught 127 fish between them.
The winner was Barry Robertson, Montrose, who set a new competition record with a catch of 29 fish for 84 pounds.
In runner-up spot was Dave Thoms, Carnoustie, with 20 fish for 59 pounds, and third place went to Sandy McAllan, Arbroath, with 20 fi
sh for 56 pounds.
Other results were: George Nicoll, Carnoustie, 15 for 46 pounds, including the day's heaviest fish, a three pound 12 ounce rainbow; Mike Broomfield, Ferryden, 14 for 38 pounds 12 ounces; Martin Roberts, Arbroath, 11 for 32 pounds; Dave Moodie, Carnoustie, 10 for 28 pounds; Bob Wallace, Dundee, five for 12 pounds 12 ounces; and David McAllan, Arbroath, three for six pounds eight ounces.
There have been some great evening rises over the past week with suspender buzzers, cdc's and wet flies taking a lot of fish. Black buzzers are doing really well during the day.
Jim Tait, Forfar, was again this week's most successful angler with 10 for 29 pounds eight ounces and five caught-and-released.
Ray Gowans, Carnoustie, had five for 12 pounds eight ounces; Mr Wainwright, Dundee, two for five pounds 12 ounces and six caught-and-released; Angus McBay, Dundee, two for five pounds three ounces and four caught-and-released; Tim Hale, Forfar, two for five pounds and 10 caught-and-released; and Ken Oram, Dundee, two for five pounds and eight caught-and-released.
Jim Steppie, Carnoustie, fished catch-and-release, returning seven.
Names are now being taken for the Dave Moodie Pairs to be held on Saturday, June 7, from 3 to 10 p.m.
