THE JUNIOR section of Panmure Rugby FC held its summer school last week when 65 children enrolled for the week-long coaching classes.

Primary one to primary six children attended the morning sessions, and Primary seven to third-year attended in the afternoons.

The first two days were held at their Forthill ground but, after the heavy rains of Tuesday night, the playing fields
resembled a swimming pool, so the event moved to Dawson Park for the final two days.

Panmure's promotions officer Gillian Millar was on hand for registration and to sign the children in and out each day. Information and welcome packs were available for parents.

Regular Panmure coaches Derek, John, Colin and Drummond put the children through their paces and made the training sessions fun, as well as enhancing the children's rugby skills. Some of the children were members of Panmure Panthers and Panmure Pirates, but there were a few children new to Panmure, and new to rugby.

On Friday the classes were delighted to welcome David Leslie, who presented the children with their 'Panmure Summer School T-shirts'.

Season 2008/09 started on Sunday - anyone interested in joining Panmure should come along to Forthill Sport Club, Fintry Place, Broughty Ferry on Sundays at 1 p.m. or phone Gillian Millar on 0784 616 4491 for more information.
