Clubsport season opens

THE OPENING week of the Clubsport Indoor Sixes Cricket League at the Mayfield Sports Centre, Dundee, last Wednesday brought two victories for Strathmore and one each for Dundee High School FP and Kinloch.

Glenrothes drew a blank on the night, but were only just edged out by Strathmore.

Results: Glenrothes 70, Strathmore 71; Kinloch 85, Dundee High School FP 32; Dundee High School FP 96, Glenrothes 72; Kinloch 43, Strathmore 53.

Wednesday’s fixtures, week three: 8 p.m. - Glenrothes v Rossie Priory; Kinloch v Largo: 9 p.m. - Glenrothes v Largo; Kinloch v Rossie Priory.

League Cup play-off

FOR THE first time ever in the Belhaven Carnoustie Domino League Joe Dow League Cup, Stag’s Head and Stag E were level on score and countback and so their semi-final was decided by a sudden death play-off which Stag E won.

They are joined in the final by Kinloch who narrowly defeated British Legion.

Results: Joe Dow League Cup, semi-finals – Kinloch 7, British Legion 5; Stag’s Head 6, Stag ‘E’ 6, Stag ‘E’ won 7-6 in sudden death play-off
