Fairweather Trophy winners

WINNER of the Colin Fairweather Trophy competition, held at Carlogie Dam Fishings on Sunday, was Derek Birse, Forfar, who landed 15 fish weighing 42lbs.

In second place with nine fish weighing 24lbs was Steve McDonald, Newburgh, and third with eight fish weighing 21lbs 4ozs was George Nicoll, Carnoustie. The heaviest fish weighing 4lb 8ozs was caught by Raymond Ferguson, Forfar.

Other returns were G. Coyle, Dundee, caught six fish and kept four weighing 6lbs 2ozs, caught on emergers;Jim Tait, Forfar, caught 12 and kept four weighing 12lbs, caught on lures; Tony Fenemore, Broughty Ferry, caught eight and kept four weighing 12lbs, caught on geordies buzzer; and Gordon Skelton, Arbroath, caught five and kept two weighing 4lbs 8ozs, caught on dry fly.

On catch and release this week were: Dave Moodie, Dundee, 12 caught on dries; Wayne Scott, Dundee, 12 caught on dries; Dougie Bruce, Stirling, 12 caught on lures; D. Gowfers’ Gamble

THERE was no jackpot winner when this week’s Gowfers’ Gamble was drawn at Laing Park on Monday night. Consolation prizes of £15 were won by M. Philip and K. Rankine, both Carnoustie.

The numbers drawn were 1, 3, 13, 14, 16 and 19.

The jackpot for the next draw on Monday will be £1,500.


Good win for Broughty gents

The victory keeps them seven points clear at the top.
