Oakley United 1,
Broughty Athletic 0
BROUGHTY Athletic narrowly lost 1-0 in their final Premier League game of the season in Oakley on Saturday.
The Fed were down to the bare bones having only 11 available players due to injury and holidays.
The only goal of a keenly fought game came courtesy of a 32-minute penalty after Stark fouled Dodd inside the box. SCARBOROUGH made no mistake with the spot kick.
Both sides ended the game with 10 men with Oakley seeing McDowell receiving a straight red in the first half and Stark left the field after being shown a second yellow in the second period.
Manager Kenny Cameron said: “In this league any mistake will cost you and we were punished to the full today when we gave away the first half penalty. I felt that once again we worked extremely hard throughout the 90 minutes against a very experienced Oakley team.”
THERE was no jackpot winner when the weekly Gowfers’ Gamble draw was made at Laing park on Monday evening.
