According to Gowfers’ boss Alan McSkimming the victory at the weekend against Broxburn Athletic was their best showing so far.
A happy gaffer said: “We went down to Broxburn on Saturday and we came away with a 2-1 victory.
“I’m absolutely delighted with it. That was probably our most complete performance, it was very encouraging and the individual performances were just outstanding.
“We created a few different chances and the team effort that went into it was just amazing, a really pleasing performance all round.”
It was particularly pleasing for him considering his depleted squad pool. Alan said: “We had a couple of injuries prior to the game with Roddy Black, John Robertson and Neil Ferguson missing.
“We went down there not sure in terms of the full fitness of the squad and I think that made it even more pleasing as it was such a professional showing. We never really looked under pressure.
“It’s not very often that we have gone down to Broxburn and come away with anything at all. It keeps the winning momentum going.”
Tomorrow (Saturday), Panmure are at home to Edinburgh United in the first round of the Scottish Cup. Alan said: “We’ve been looking forward to this. It’s a cup that Carnoustie has a big history in.
“If we play like we have done in previous weeks it will take care of itself, but we can’t take that as a given, we must turn up and perform.”
