Angling and Forfar League News

There have been a lot of anglers out over the past week on Lintrathen Loch but the bulk of them have only gone home with one or two fish each. Some days the fish have been right up on top of the water and other days they have been well down. The secret has been to find out just exactly where the fish were lying.

When the fish are up, dry flies have done well with small black winged flies and spiders taking fish. On the other days, hoppers, crunchers, dawl bachs and bibios fished about two to three feet down have been doing well.

Club results: Brechin AC, seven boats, 38 fish for 78lbs 2ozs; Burnside AC, two boats, five for 9lbs 12ozs; Strathmore Ang Imp ASC, four boats, 16 for 18lbs 12ozs. Individual boats: D. Lennon and partner, 10 fish for 19lbs 7ozs; Stewart and Moira Ferrier, eight fish for 21 lbs; J. Dick, three for 7lbs; Scott Pozzi and partner, 10 for 19lbs 3ozs; Jim and Dave Moncur, nine for 17lbs 3ozs.
