BROUGHTY Athletic entertained Glenrothes in a Premier League fixture at a windy Whitton Park on Saturday.
The home team started the game brightly, forcing several corners.
The Glens had a chance in 15 minutes when neat build up play involving Martin and Shaw resulted in a shot from the edge of the box which was off target.
It was the visitors who opened the scoring five minutes later when they raced clear through Shaw. He eventually played the ball across goal for MARTIN to shoot home from eight yards.
In a relatively even contest Broughty were by no means out of it and in 30 minutes a long ball from Garrick found Dailly who controlled it well before shooting just wide of the target.
Half-time: Broughty Athletic 0, Glenrothes 1.
In a decent contest both sides were seeing plenty of the ball but neither outfit really threatened the opposition’s goal. A good break on the right from Dailly resulted in a cross into the box which was gathered by visiting ‘keeper Roberts at the second attempt.
The Fed had an excellent opportunity to even the score when Lunan was fed in by Brash but the striker rushed his shot and it went wide of the target.
Broughty were caught on the break with five minutes left and Glens scored the killer second goal of the game. Martin did well to make space on the right and fed in SIMPSON who took a touch before curling the ball into the corner of the net from just inside the box.
