Broughty Athletic boss Keith Gibson was fuming as a bizarre red card contibuted to his side’s 2-1 loss to Linlithgow Rose.
With the teams level at 1-1, Bryan Duell was given a straight red as he was being subbed off.
But Gibson was keen to point out the positives after a gutting defeat.
He said: “It was 1-1 at the red card and you couldn’t see us losing a goal, so it’s disappointing.
“We’ve got loads of positives to take from the game. We started very well and then they came back into it.
“We changed our shape a bit to combat them but when they scored their goal they really came back into it, so we went back to a 4-4-2 and we got back into the game. We deserved to go in at half-time at 1-1.
“As the second half went on you saw the players’ confidence build and build, then one of the most bizarre decisions I’ve ever seen in my life changes the game.
“It gave the momentum back to Linlithgow, it’s hard enough playing them with 11 men never mind 10, especially through there.
“We felt the momentum was with us before the red card.
“We need to take the positives from that and into our next games, and hopefully we get a run of games now.
“We know our next two fixtures, we’re away to Stonehaven in a tough game then we play Newtongrange at home the week after that in the league.”
