FIVE more coaches from Carnoustie Panmure Youth have passed their SFA Level 3 coaching course. The club now has 12 coaches at this level.
The most recent recipients are Craig Miller, 11s; David Patterson, Nines; Jim Lorimer, Under-15s; Terry Shepherd, 11s; and Steve Wanless, Nines.
In both children’s and youth awards structures, the 12-hour coaching in the game certificate course looks at the knowledge and understanding required to help young players appreciate concepts such as width, depth and support within the small-sided game.
The course is largely practical in nature and prospective coaches are required to demonstrate the ability to coach basic strategies to young players.
Alistair Shaw, of the nines, also completed his SFA Level 2 course which had been delayed after he broke his wrist.
