Gowfers’ boss Alan McSkimming is confident his side’s pre-season programme will stand them in good stead for the coming campaign.

Speaking on Wednesday he welcomed the benefits of friendlies following their win against Milton Amateurs. He said: “It was 3-0 and we probably could have scored more. It was fairly comfortable and that’s what these games are for, to build a bit of confidence.

“I’m really looking forward to tonight’s game against East Craigie. They are a team that did extremely well last year which is one reason we were so keen to play them.

“We’re confident and looking to do a couple of different things in terms of players and formations. Hopefully we’ll be able to put on a wee show for the fans.”

Unfortunately for Panmure East Craigie triumphed 1-0, the visitors scoring in the 32nd minute.

Tomorrow (Saturday) Panmure face Devoronvale at Laing Park. Alan said: “We’re looking forward to seeing where we are and really test ourselves against some quality opposition.”
