One point is better than none for Gowfers’ gaffer Alan McSkimming.
Following the goalless draw against Broxburn Athletic on Saturday he said: “When we played Broxburn earlier in the season they beat us 3-0 and we felt that we deserved a bit more from the game, but Saturday was a fairly accurate result over the piece and I think both teams would have been happy with the point. I certainly was.”
Tomorrow (Saturday) the Carnoustie men are back on the silver trail with a first round tie against Forfar West End in the North/Tayside Inter-Region Cup. Alan said: “This is a cup which is local and which we should be competing for and if we can play like we have in recent weeks I am sure we can dispose of Forfar West End. The standard of play has been excellent, we just need to keep that level of consistency up.
“It’s not a game we are taking lightly, Forfar West End are a strong outfit and they have shown that in their transition to this league.”
The boss is hopeful that the sickness bug which plagued the squad last week has run its course and they would be at full strength.
