FIREFIGHTERS from Scotland and England contested an ‘international’ football match at Laing Park, the home of Carnoustie Panmure, on Thursday.

The match is played annually and last year was won 1-0 by Scotland, who, therefore were holders of the cup.

Despite the poor conditions on the day, the teams battled out a 1-1 draw which everyone agreed was a fair reflection of play.

However, as Scotland were cup holders, they retain the trophy for another year.

It was presented to Roddy Black, from Tayside Fire and Rescue, by Chief Fire Officer, Stephen Hunter.
