Dropping four goals at Central Park on Saturday did nothing to dampen the spirits of the Gowfers who are ready and raring to climb the league table.

Manager Alan McSkimming was not downhearted by the loss. He said: “Going down to a penalty only three minutes in was a challenge from the offset and it is fair to say over the 90 minutes Kelty were the deserved winners. But we played with great character and continued to create chances, not ever showing we thought the game was out of reach.

“We took a lot from the game and I am really pleased with how we performed against the top league side.

“It is these games that we enjoy learning from and hopefully we will go into tomorrow’s match baring some of that confidence.”

McSkimming said it will be a real boost to have experienced player Roddy Black back on the pitch as well as the return of John Roberts.
