Alan McSkimming was delighted with Carnoustie Panmure’s professional 2-0 win over St Andrews United on Saturday.
The manager said: “It was a really good win on Saturday. It was important for us to keep our home form intact. We went about it in a professional way. It was a tough game, really tough, and there wasn’t much in it.
“But we took our chances as and when we got them and we’re really delighted with the three points. It’s another clean sheet and it’s positive. It helps when we’ve got a consistent back four and goalkeeper, and they’ve been performing really well. I think as a team we’ve done really well this season apart from the setback against Broughty. But I think we can take a lot of positives from the start into the remaining games.
“It’s a fantastic start. We knew that we had a really strong squad this season then we had a very successful pre-season, so we were interested to see how well we could gel when it came to the big games. And we’ve shown in the first six games that we really can compete. We’re not getting carried away after six games but we’re happy with how the boys have gelled.”
