Kelty Hearts 2,

Carnoustie Panmure 2

Carnoustie Panmure headed to Central Park on Saturday to meet Kelty Hearts, in the McBookie.com East Superleague.

The visitors made a disastrous start, going a goal down in the first minute. A long ball by Kelty into the Carnoustie box was left by the defence and ‘keeper Macpherson and CARGILL nipped in and stroked the ball into the empty net.

In 14 minutes Kelty’s acting manager, Courts, was replaced by Fraser. McIlravey made good ground up the right and sent the ball in for Milne, but his curling shot just crept over the bar with ‘keeper Fleming well beaten.

Carnoustie won a corner but Webster’s flag kick was well held by Fleming under pressure from Milne. In 25 minutes Perera was booked for dissent.

The visitors went further behind a minute later when Bathgate fired a low cross in from the right and somehow it evaded everyone until it reached McCABE at the far post and he shot home from close range.

From the kick-off Robertson fouled Bathgate out on the right, but Campbell’s free kick found Bathgate in an offside position. In 32 minutes Robertson was booked for a foul on Deane.

The Gowfers pulled a goal back in 36 minutes when Milne won a corner off Kay and Webster’s kick caused panic in Kelty’s box with the referee blowing for a penalty when Duffin was adjuged to have fouled Milne. WEBSTER took the spot kick and smashed it past Fleming.

Macpherson had to look sharp to palm a cross by Philip away before Bathgate could get his head to it. Cargill then tried a low drive from 25 yards, but Macpherson dealt with it easily. Just on half time, Philip was booked for dissent.

Half-time: Kelty Hearts 2, Carnoustie Panmure 1.

At the restart a cross by Philip reached Cargill, but he headed well past and at the other end Milne laid a ball on for McIlravey to have a go, but he shot wide.

Kay was booked for a foul on Milne on 60 minutes. Carnoustie almost threw all their good work away when Robertson miskicked a long punt and let Bathgate in on goal, but Macpherson managed to turn his shot past for a fruitless corner.

In 65 minutes Johnston replaced Bathgate. Five minutes later, the visitors’ pressure finally paid off. A corner on the left by Webster was met by MYLES and he headed strongly past Fleming.

In 73 minutes Kay was shown a second yellow card then a red for another foul on McIlravey.

Kelty were on their knees and Carnoustie threw everything at them, but another Webster corner came to nothing and in the final minute McIlravey was harshly booked for a foul on McCabe.
