Carnoustie Panmure 6,

Colony Park 0

Following a defeat by Linlithgow Rose, Carnoustie Panmure welcomed Colony Park to Laing Park on Saturday for a Scottish Junior Cup tie.

Manager Alan McSkimming recalled Steven Cook and Josh Perera to the starting 11 with bench spots going to Liam and Marc Scott, Roddy Black and Josh Allardyce (GK).

The Gowfers got off to the best of starts, taking the lead in the first minute. Cook fed a fine ball through to MILNE and he strode into the box and drove past Duguid from 15 yards.

Colony came back and McDonald crossed a long ball in from the right, but it was too strong and carried out the far side. It was almost back to level terms when a miskick by Buggins let McDonald through into the box but Ferrie came out and forced him wide and he shot past the post.

The short spell of Colony pressure came to an abrupt halt when Carnoustie rattled in three goals in four minutes.

The first one was a good passing movement by Cook and Myles with the latter laying the ball on for MILNE to shoot past Duguid from close in.

Two minutes later Bews put a high ball into the Colony box and PERERA got a touch which fooled the ‘keeper and he fumbled the ball over the line.

After another two minutes Carnoustie were four up when McIlravey was sent down the left by Buggins and his cross was turned in at the near post by MILNE for his hat-trick.

In 22 minutes ‘keeper Duguid was replaced by Sim. Colony got back into the game and a cross by Pugh was well held by Ferrie. In 35 minutes Bonarius was booked for a foul on Myles. McIlravey caused a bit of panic in the Colony box when his free-kick was first blocked by Pugh and then eventually cleared by Turriff after a lot of scrambling.

Half-time: Carnoustie Panmure 4, Colony Park 0.

Carnoustie made a blistering start to the second half with a passing move between Perera and Cook who laid the ball on for MYLES to sweep it past Sim from 15 yards for his fourth and Carnoustie’s fifth.

In 48 minutes Crosbie was booked for a foul on Perera and a minute later Roddy was booked for a foul on Bews. Colony tried hard to get something from the game and a Bonarius corner was blocked by Robertson. In 58 minutes Bews was replaced by L. Scott.

In 72 minutes L. Scott sent a through ball for COOK to chase and ‘keeper Sim came out, but his attempted clearance was blocked by the Gowfers’ player and he pounced onto the loose ball to roll it into the empty net.

In 75 minutes McIlravey was replaced by M. Scott. In 77 minutes Bonarius was booked for a second time, for a foul on L. Scott, so he was red carded.

M. Scott then went up the left and put in a fine cross to the far post, but Cook’s volley was saved by Sim at the post.

McGuinness fouled Perera 35 yards out and the kick by L. Scott was headed out by Crosbie and crossed back in again by M. Scott, but it was past the post.
