Camelon 2,

Carnoustie Panmure 2

Carnoustie Panmure met Camelon Juniors at Carmuirs Park on Saturday for their final McBookie.com South League game of the season.

In seven minutes the Gowfers opened their account when Clark picked up the ball, dodged past two players and fired in a shot which Watson did well to block. However, the ball fell to PERERA who smacked it past the ‘keeper and into the net.

In 19 minutes Camelon came close to leveling the tie when Fullarton sent Allison away up the left and he took the ball to the edge of the box before trying a shot which curled just wide of Macpherson’s left-hand post.

With 25 minutes played, Brass lobbed the ball over Macpherson’s head but fortunately the ‘keeper was able to get back and catch it before it crossed the line. M. Scott became the first player to be shown a yellow card in 31 minutes for what looked like a rather innocuous challenge on Kerr.

In 37 minutes, Fullarton was lucky not to be booked when he chopped down M. Scott. Clark touched the ball M. Scott who sent in a great cross which Millar got his head to, but it flashed narrowly over the top.

Half time: Camelon Juniors 0, Carnoustie Panmure 1.

The Mariners made a double substitution, with Fullarton and Allison being replaced by Kelly and Batchelor. In 53 minutes Millar put in a great saving tackle on Batchelor and the ball spun out for a corner.

With 67 minutes played the Mariners made their third and final change with Kerr going off to make way for Ure. In 72 minutes, Batchelor made yet another good run. He raced past Ferguson and Beattie and sent in a low hard cross across the six-yard box, for KELBIE to hammer past Macpherson.

Ten minutes from time the Gowfers made their first change with Perera making way for Dailly and less than a minute later the Gowfers were back in front. Clark played a long ball through to DAILLY and the substitute dinked the ball over the advancing Watson and into the net.

In 86 minutes Beattie was shown yellow for a foul on Batchelor, but Dick’s free kick was headed well wide by Kelbie. With the whistle looming and the Gowfers seemingly having secured all three points, disaster struck, when Carnoustie lost the ball, following a Robertson throw-in. It was played through to BRASS who struck it past Macpherson to give his side a share of the spoils.
