Gowfers’ gaffer Alan McSkimming was absolutely delighted with his team’s performance on Saturday when they put six past Colony Park without reply in a Scottish Junior Cup tie.

He told GazetteSport: “It was a professional performance by the boys. I asked them to go out and start the game at a high intensity and hoped that if we did that, with the quality we have, we could kill the game off quickly.

“We scored within 52 seconds and we were four up within 20 minutes, which rather blew Colony Park away.”

After Saturday’s high, everyone, he said, is looking forward to the league fixture against Balingry Rovers at Ore Park tomorrow (Saturday). Mr McSkimming concluded: “Balingry blow hot and cold. It could be a sticky game. but it is one we are confident of getting a result from and we are looking forward to it.”
