Broughty Athletic JFC are pleased to announce that defender Jamie McCunnie has signed a two-year extension to stay at the club, tying him until the summer of 2019.
Jamie’s previous contract was due to expire at the end of this season but manager Keith Gibson, along with Jamie, were quietly working behind the scenes to secure a deal to stay at the club.
Jamie was influential in helping Broughty secure their Super League status last season, finishing 10th in the Super League, and also helping the side win promotion the season before via the play-off finals from the Premier League against Armadale Thistle.
Jamie’s list of previous clubs contain the likes of Dundee United, Ross County, Dunfermline, East Fife, Hartlepool United as well as playing abroad in Iceland for a couple of seasons.
He joined the Fed in January 2014.
Broughty boss Keith Gibson told the club's website: “I’m very glad Jamie has decided to extend his contract with us. He’s played a vital role in guiding the club to the Super League as well as helping us stay there last season and I know he’ll play his part this season.
"He helps the lads throughout the team during training and games and is a pleasure to have around the club. He’s very professional in all he does on the pitch and we’re glad to have him secured for the next couple of seasons."
