League leaders humbled

Forfar 2, Carnoustie Under-17s 4

CARNOUSTIE sent shockwaves through the league with an outstanding result against the current league leaders.

After falling behind early on, they levelled on the stroke of half-time to go in at 1-1.

Panmure survived an early scare in the second half before going 2-1 up through Cameron Lockheart and further strikes from Cameron Stephen and an own goal had Carnoustie 4-1 up before Forfar pulled back a late consolation right at the end.

Manager Billy Hoon and coaches Mike Andrews and Andy McGill said they were proud of their team.

The Under-15s found themselves 3-0 down to Ferry Athletic by half-time before Oliver Nicoll scored twice to give them a chance, but a fourth from the Ferry killed the game off. Both teams were reduced to 10 men through red cards.
