Lots of positives in performance, says Alan

Gowfers’ gaffer Alan McSkimming is a man capable of seeing the positives in defeat after his side went down to Sauchie Juniors.

Due to the weather conditions the game had been switched to the 4G surface at Alloa, a move which got them off on the wrong foot.

Alan said: “We were happy to move the game so it was unfortunate that in the first 10 to 15 minutes both teams were still getting to grips with the pitch. Unfortunately for us we lost a goal in that first bit.

“Credit to the players they came back from that in the second half but then we went to 10 men and lost that second goal.

“I can’t fault the players. The performance they put in, regardless of the scoreline, was probably the best it has been in weeks.”

On Tuesday Panmure gave a good account of themselves at Montrose in a friendly ahead of their league match against Kelty Hearts tomorrow (Saturday).

Alan said: “Just a friendly game to get a bit more football to help to keep the momentum going. We’re looking forward to Kelty which is going to be a difficult game.

“They beat Linlithgow Rose last week at home which is against the run of form, so they will come to us full of confidence. But we are very strong at home.”
