Ten years since their last visit Monifieth Ladies Football Club paraded the Saltire through the Ullevi Stadium at the opening ceremony of the Swedish youth football tournament, Gothia Cup.
Whipping the flag in front of an audience of 45,000, the kilted team savoured the unique opportunity to represent their country.
The inspirational trip to Scandinavia gave the girls, the only female Scottish team in attendance, valuable football experience as well as a chance to mingle with football enthusiasts from across the globe.
Club Chairperson Graham Mearns said: “It was an absolutely brilliant experience. The girls did extremely well, especially being selected against three much bigger, stronger, fitter Swedish teams.”
