Gowfers’ gaffer Alan McSkimming might be unhappy with Saturday’s score, but not with the way his side is playing.

Panmure lost 2-1 to second placed Bo’ness United at Laing Park at the weekend, but the boss feels the goals didn’t reflect the play.

He said: “Over the 90 minutes I think we certainly deserved to take something from the game. Obviously they are one of the top teams in our league.

“We’re maybe not getting the rub of the green just now as we were definitely in control for large parts of the game.

“I think sometimes we’re lacking that killer instinct to kill games off.”

Tomorrow (Saturday) Carnoustie are at home again and will play host to Musselburgh United who sit nine points above them.

The boss said: “This weekend is quite a big game. You go through spells where some games are worth more than others.

“Musselburgh are our closest rivals in the league and this is the first time we’ve played them this season. We’ve got games in hand and we’re trying to claw the points back and I’m confident we can go and take something from it.

“I’m really pleased with how we’re playing and it looks like this weekend we are back to full strength.”

Currently on the treatment table are Michael McIlravey and Steven Narey, but it is hoped that a late fitness test will see McIlravey make the cut on Saturday.
