No luck for Barnhill in cup

BARNHILL lost out to Second Division newcomers, Inchture, in their second round Bremner Challenge Cup tie at the weekend.

The local team found themselves behind early on when the ball was hit home from close range during a goalmouth scramble following a corner.

Barnhill levelled within five minutes and it stayed like that until half time.

However, with only 20 minutes to go, Inchture went ahead again when a shot seemed to swerve.Five minutes later Inchture went further ahead when the Barnhill ‘keeper was caught in possession outside his box and the ball was lofted home.

The only other game to survive the weather was the Division Two meeting between Monifieth Tayside and Kelso.

Despite scoring 14 goals already this season in their previous two meetings against Kelso, Monifieth had a bad day and the game finished goalless.
