No more Mr Nice Guy in final Gowfer friendly

Gowfers boss Alan McSkimming is confident of his side’s capabilities as they edge closer to the new season.

Although last week they lost to Deveronvale they thrashed Broughty Athletic 4-0. Alan is happy with the mixed results. He explained: “Saturday was an excellent game all round even for the neutrals watching. I was very impressed with Deveronvale, they are a couple of weeks ahead of us in terms of match fitness and sharpness. I think this was possibly the difference, but the way we performed was excellent. I think perhaps if we’d taken our chances on goal the score might have been different.

“Broughty was a completely different sort of game and we dominated it from the start. Although the score was 4-0 we were unlucky not to score a few extra goals.”

Tomorrow (Saturday) they face Edinburgh City. Alan said: “This is the penultimate game for us and we’re looking to go in with the strongest 11 we’ve got. We’re now at the stage where we are looking for results.”
