Gowfers’ gaffer Alan McSkimming is going to have to wait a while before he can try out his latest signing.
Ewan Buggins has just signed for Panmure on a two-year deal from Brechin Vics and according to the boss has been on their wishlist for a while.
Alan said: “He’s a player we’ve been following for a long time and a player I’ve been aware of for many years. He’s only 19 but he’s been playing at Brechin Vics for two or three seasons now and he’s been an excellent prospect.
“He’s six foot four and a big strong lad and very versatile. He adds something a wee bit different to the squad and most importantly some quality.
“Ewan is versatile as I say and he doesn’t have a position but we have taken him on as a defender. His aerial dominance will be useful.”
However, Alan will have to do without Ewan for a while longer as he is currently halfway through a two match ban, and so will miss the game tomorrow (Saturday) against Kelty Hearts.
On Wednesday evening the draw was made for the second round of the Scottish Junior Cup.
Panmure will travel to Lochburn Park, Glasgow, to face struggling Central League First Division side Maryhill FC on Saturday, October 26.
Speaking ahead of the draw the boss said: “It’s always exciting as the Scottish Junior Cup is the biggest cup out there and it always adds a bit of spice to a game.”
