Gowfers’ manager Alan McSkimming is delighted with his players’ approach to pre-season training and can’t wait to get back into action.

He believes his squad is as fit as can be and says the spirit in the team is fantastic.

He went on: “We pre-warned the guys that it would be the hardest pre-season they had ever done and we kept to that. However it has worked, because the fitness levels are exeptional. We have varied the training this season to keep it interesting On the Monday and Thursday we have been training either at Pitskelly or at Victoria Park, Arbroath, and on the Saturday we were away to Lunan Bay.”

Asked about the friendly against Milton Amateurs at Stirling tomorrow (Saturday) he commented: “We have played against them before, and will get a really good workout against them. They are a good footballing side so it was a natural choice to play them again.”
