Carnoustie Panmure manager Alan McSkimming was delighted to secure a number of last season’s squad on new deals for the forthcoming season.
The likes of Michael McIlravey, Danny Millar, Marc Scott, Chris MacPherson and Ewan Buggins have agreed terms on renewed contracts with the Super League outfit.
Some players have left Laing Park though with Kevin Cummings leaving due to work commitments, Neal Ferrie and Rory Bews getting released and Greg Birmingham moving to Kirrie Thistle.
There are no new signings as of yet but McSkimming has a number of targets in mind and is hopeful of confirming some player acquisitions over the coming days.
A striker remains top of the gaffer’s wishlist as well as strengthening elsewhere in the squad.
He added that the new campaign should be an exciting one for the club and fans alike should he be able to acquire the targets he has his in his sights.
Alan said: “It’s been a busy week or so getting around all my own guys and starting preparations for new guys coming in.
“Kevin Cummings is leaving due to work commitments. He’s moving down south. That’s a loss, he was excellent for us at the trail end of the season.
“Rory Bews has been released with Neal Ferrie. Greg Birmingham has been sold to Kirrie Thistle.
“At the moment because most contracts expired on Tuesday, most clubs don’t tend to show their hand until Wednesday.
“We’ll definitely have announcements of players coming in over the weekend.
“We start pre-season training on Saturday so we’ll have the new guys there.
“We’re just getting our own guys sorted that we wanted to get kept on contracts.
“It’s very satisfying because there’s been a lot of interest from other clubs who have been trying to sign our players.
“It’s credit to us that we’ve kept them because we’ve got an exciting 12 months ahead of us if things go to plan.
“We’re excited about what we can do and we hope we can bring in the addition of that extra quality in the coming days.”
