Gowfers’ gaffer Alan McSkimming is all smiles this week after his side overpowered Kelty Hearts at Laing Park.
It was a good chance for Panmure to get back up to steam with a convincing 2-1 victory. Alan said: “I’m absolutely delighted, it’s good to be back to winning ways and it was an outstanding performance.
“I never really felt the game was in doubt. Everyone knew how important it was to get a result and they all stepped up to the mark. I’m really proud of the players.”
On Wednesday night the Gowfers’ were at Riverside Park for a friendly against Arbroath which finished 6-2 to the Lichties.
Speaking before the game Alan said: “Arbroath don’t have a game this Saturday. They’ll probably field a fairly strong team, a mix of first team and guys trying to break into that. It’ll be a challenge. It’s not the best of nights for it but it will be a good workout and a good opportunity to see how far we’ve come on against a quality side.”
Tomorrow (Saturday) Camelon Juniors visit Laing Park in the league and Alan is looking for some payback after their cup defeat last month.
He said: “Everybody is looking forward to the game. We feel like we’ve got some unfinished business with them after leaving the Scottish Cup. We’re looking to prove a point that we are a better team than the one from three weeks ago.”
