Mixed fortunes for ‘Shire

WHEN the Clubsport Indoor Sixes Cricket League resumed at the Mayfield Sports Centre, Dundee, last Wednesday, it was a night of mixed fortunes for Forfarshire.

A narrow nine-run defeat from Kinloch in their opening match was followed by a thumping 93-run victory over Glenrothes, which gave the Broughty Ferry side their first win in this season’s competition.

Results: Kinloch 76, Forfarshire 67; Arbroath 54, Glenrothes 41; Arbroath 60, Kinloch 42; Forfarshire 108, Glenrothes 15.

Wednesday’s fixtures: 8 p.m. - Rossie Priory v Arbroath; Largo v Forfarshire: 9 p.m. - Rossie Priory v Largo; Arbroath v Forfarshire.

Heavy defeat for St Stephen’s

IN THEIR Dundee Area Badminton Association Division Three return fixture with Arbroath Academy, St Stephen’s again lost heavily.

Monifieth were also beaten by Arbroath Academy in their Division Three clash with third lady Linda Marshall best for them with six sets.

Gowfers’ Gamble

THERE was no jackpot winner when the Gowfers’ Gamble draw was made at Laing Park on Monday evening.

The numbers drawn were 1, 2, 4, 6, 12 and 15. Consolation prizes of £20 each go to R. Clark and S. Seaton, both Carnoustie.

The jackpot for the next draw, on Monday (January 21) will be £2,250.
