Angling at Lintrathen Loch

ALTHOUGH the season is now winding down at Lintrathen, there has been a large number of anglers out recently.

Fish stocking has continued but the autumnal weather has made the fish difficult to catch. Best tactics seem to be to fish lures slow and deep during the morning but change to sink tips or intermediate lines from lunch time onwards. Traffic light cormorants, fritz gold heads and dat’s whiskers have all taken fish. Diawl bachs and damsels have been good with sink tips.

The season ends on Friday, October 5, with the work party on Saturday, October 6. Any member who attends the work party, can pick up a free boat between now and the end of the season.

Club results: Dundee Hydro, four boats, seven fish for 13lbs 10ozs; Brax AC, four boats, eight for 12lbs 13ozs; Kingfisher 20, four boats, 19 for 40lbs 8ozs; Aberdour, one boat, five for 7lbs 2ozs; Bonnybridge AC, three boats, seven for 14lbs 4ozs; Brechin AC, eight boats, 11 for 19lbs 13ozs.
