Broughty Bowling Club had a good win in the Specsavers Angus League Division One on Friday evening and also won narrowly in round one of the Barcay Cup.

In their Saturday matches it was a win and a defeat.

Carnoustie Club

Carnoustie Bowling Club suffered another defeat in their Angus League game away to Longforgan on Friday while on Saturday they travelled to Forfar and were defeated by 18 shots.

Carnoustie West End

It has been a winning week at the West End green.

Member Ramsay Brown has reached the district finals of the Scottish Senior Singles and is one game away from going to the national finals in Ayr.

On Friday the Angus League team travelled to Newgate and after a nail biting match came away with a three-shot victory. This result puts the West End lads two points clear at the top of the league.

On Saturday Arbroath’s Abbey Bowling Club were visitors to Kinloch Street and in a very sociable game they suffered an 11-shot defeat at the hands of West End.
