Athletes hold on to first division place

THE FINAL competition in the Scottish Athletics League Division One (men) took place at Grangemouth on Sunday.

Although the Arbroath and District Athletic Club men were slightly depleted in numbers, their efforts on the track and in the field ensured they finished in the top five, maintaining their place in the first division for next season.

There will be no athletics tomorrow (Saturday) due to the Inter Regional Competition taking place at Wishaw. The Tayside and Fife track and field championships takes place on September 18 at Perth. See Winston for application forms. The closing date is September 5.

The Tayside Open Combined events will take place at Caird Park on September 25 with closing date for entry being September 12. All registered club athletes should take the opportunity to compete in what will be the last events of the outdoor season and parent helpers are required at each event.
