Carnoustie go four points clear

IN A high scoring match on Friday evening, Carnoustie West End defeated Broughty 64-59 and have gone four points clear at the top of Angus Bowling League Division One with only three weeks remaining.

Despite losing, Broughty remain fifth, but a fourth successive defeat has taken Monifieth bottom of the table.

Meanwhile, in Division Two, Barnhill are now in a three-way tie for the lead, but sit third on shots difference.

Carnoustie and Broughty Castle are third and fifth respectively in Division 3, but both are only two points off the pace.

Carnoustie West End

THE WEST End club is on a roll at the moment. They travelled to Broughty on Friday night to play in the Angus league. West End were top of the league with Broughty two points behind.

A very close game came a climax with the West Enders winning with the very last bowl of the match to move four points clear with three games still to play.

The team travel to Forfar to meet Canmore tonight (Friday) knowing victory will all but clinch the league for the first time in the club’s history.

On Saturday the Kinloch Street green played host to Lochlands from Arbroath with hosts running out easy victors 87-69.
