Carnoustie West End take two-point league lead

CARNOUSTIE West End moved two points clear at the top of the Angus Bowling League Division One with a 14-shot away victory against nearest challengers Newgate.

Broughty are third after beating Montrose, but Monifieth remain eighth following a home defeat from Canmore.

In Division Two, Barnhill improved their position with a home victory over Craigie, while in Division Three there were mixed fortunes for Broughty Castle and Carnoustie.

Broughty Castle Bowling Club is holding an open day on Sunday, from 12.30 to 3.30 p.m.

Broughty BC

BROUGHTY Bowling Club won the annual match for the McInally-Fegan Trophy, played home and away on Tuesday against Broughty Castle.

The result, 142 shots to 131 meant that Broughty retained the Trophy.

Carnoustie Club

MEMBERS of Carnoustie Bowling Club travelled to Forfar on Saturday and came away with a 107-91 shots victory over Forfar Bowling Club.
