Carnoustie West End top Angus Bowling League Division One after 19-shot win

A 19-SHOT away victory against Arbroath’s Abbey club on Friday night has taken Carnoustie West End top of the Angus Bowling League Division One on shots difference from Newgate.

Also in Division One, Monifieth edged a two-shot win at home to Montrose, while the only other local winners on the night were Carnoustie, who opened their Division Three campaign with a 13-shot victory away to Friockheim.

Barnhill, Broughty and Broughty Castle all lost against Parkview, Newgate and Muirhead respectively.

BROUGHTY Castle and Monifieth are both through to the second rounds of the annual pairs and triples competitions organised by Dundee District Wednesday Bowling Association.

Another local club, Broughty, also progressed in the pairs, but was unfortunately unsuccessful in the triples.

However, it was a disappointing day for Barnhill, who were eliminated from both competitions.
