VISITORS to the Carlogie Dam Fishings last week included Mike Johnston, Arbroath, who caught five and and kept three weighing 8lbs 8ozs on a yellow blob.
On catch and release were G. Cheetham, Dundee, who C & r 20+ on buzzers and damsels; Derek Glover, Dundee, C & r nine on a Damsel; George Woods, Montrose, C & r 13 on dries and buzzers; Colin Cameron, Dundee, C & r 15 on buzzers; L. Robertson, Forfar, C & r seven on buzzers; Dave Simpson, Forfar, C & r 12 on blobs; and Dave Marr, Brechin, C & r eight on buzzers.
THE FISHING at Kingennie this week has not been the easiest, with a large amount of natural food around for the trout to feed on.
The best return from the Boathouse was by Mr Miller who had two fish totalling 11lbs. Mr Stonebank took a nice rainbow trout of 5.5lbs on a pheasant tail nymph. Other successful patterns were the yellow dancer and gold head damsel.
During late afternoon and evening on the Bankside, Mr Price had great success on various patterns with 15 fish returned under the catch and release system. Mr Kirk also did well returning 14. Dry flies accounted for most of the fish with CDCs and shuttlecocks being prominent.
Fishing on the all method pond, Woodside was somewhat unpredictable, although some decent returns were made with a number of bigger fish taken on spinners. A couple of blue trout were caught in this pond during the week.
