Arbroath and District Athletic Club members were busy in both track and field and cross-country events over the weekend.

The Emirates Arena in Glasgow was the venue for the Scottish Indoor Age Championship where Ellen Robertson won the bronze medal in the under-20 triple-jump.

ADAC results:

Under-14, girls - R. Broadfoot, 60m – 8.92; 60m hurdles – 10.79; long-jump – 4.06: I. McFarlane, shot-putt – 6.86; high-jump – 1.25.

Under-16, boys - J. McFarlane, 60m hurdles – 9.60; long-jump – 4.99; triple-jump – 10.10.

Under-20, women - E. Robertson, triple-jump – bronze, 11.15; high-jump – 1.50.

The final event in the Castle Cross-Country series took place at Balgownie, Aberdeenshire.

Under-11 athlete Megan Gowans won her race as well as being the series winner in her age group and up and coming youngster Kayleigh Whitton came first in the Try a Trail.

Try a Trail - 1, K. Whitton, 4.56.

Under-11, girls - 1, M. Gowans, 7.22; S. Smart, 8.33; I. Whitton, 9.13; H. Willey, 9.33.

Under-13, girls - S. Chisholm, 20.08; K. Chatton, 20.42: boys - D. Smart, 16.48; M. Law, 16.58.

Senior men - three miles, J. Young, 26.53: six miles, L. Morrison, 41.40; M. Chisholm, 51.03.

The club’s cross-country championships will take place at Crombie Park on Saturday, March 8, with the first race going off at 9 a.m. Renewal of membership will take place on the day and all athletes should come along and take part.
