THE SPORT has been excellent at Carlogie Dam, with most anglers taking their bag limits.
Visitors included Derek Birse, Forfar, who caught six and kept two weighing 7lbs 4ozs on a bloodworm; C. Ferguson, Kirriemuir, who caught four and kept two weighing 5lbs on lures; B. Sinclair, Kirriemuir, who caught four and kept two weighing 4lbs 4ozs on lures; Jim Tait, Forfar, who caught 15 and kept five weighing 12lbs on nymphs; Mike Black, Carnoustie, who caught and kept two weighing 8lbs on lures.
S. McAllan, Arbroath, caught 14 and kept two weighing 6lbs on a bunny leach; D. Johnston, Dundee, caught five and kept two weighing 4lbs 8ozs on lures; R. Dell, Arbroath, caught eight and kept four weighing 10lbs 8ozs on blobs; M. Adamson, Dundee, caught five and kept three weighing 8lbs 4ozs on a yellow dancer; Ian Gardner, Arbroath, caught eight and kept three weighing 8lbs 8ozs on a WSW.
M. Wright, Aberdeen, caught five and kept three weighing 6lbs 8ozs on a WSW; G. McAllan, Arbroath, caught and kept two weighing 7lbs 8ozs on lures; Dave Simpson, Aberdeen, caught nine and kept five weighing 10lbs 4ozs on a bunny leach; Neil Smith, Aberdeen, caught eight and kept five weighing 9lbs on a WSW; S. McDonald, Newburgh, caught 20-plus and kept four weighing 8lbs 8ozs on a green bug.
The Troutmaster fish-off took place with seven anglers trying for the top spot. The winner, Dave Roy, Barnhill, had five weighing 13lbs 10ozs plus 4lbs for time saved, totalling 17lbs 10ozs. Second place went to Macauly Clark, Forfar, who had five weighing 11lbs 2ozs, plus 4lbs for time saved, totalling 15lbs 2ozs, and third was last years winner, Dave Moodie, Carnoustie, with five weighing 11lbs, plus 3lbs for time saved, totalling 14lbs.
The junior winner was Jack Beattie, Carnoustie, with one weighing 1lb 14ozs.
