Fish are taking the bait at Carlogie Dam

THE LAST week’s fishing activities at Carlogie were topped with a 20lb 4oz rainbow caught and returned by local angler David Moodie, Carnoustie, on a black buzzer.

Jim Tait, Forfar, caught 18, returned 13 and kept five weighing 12lb on a buzzer, his biggest a rainbow weighing 14lb, returned; Lee Brewster, Forfar, caught four, returned two and kept two weighing 4lb on a bunny leach his best a 16lb rainbow which was returned; Alex Brewster, Forfar, caught five returned three and kept two weighing 4lb on a bunny leach, W. Johnston, Bonnyriggs, caught four returned one and kept three weighing 6lb on buzzers; and Dave Mahoney caught 11 returned nine and kept two weighing 4lb on buzzers.

William Wilson and Co. held a fishing outing at the dam with 18 anglers catching 48, returning 23 and keeping 25 between them. Organiser Mike Black, Carnoustie had the biggest catch of eight, returned six and kept two, weighing 16lb in total.

On catch and release were Jade Beattie (14), Carnoustie, who c&r eight on a bunny leach, her best a rainbow of 8lb, Fraser Robertson, Forfar, c&r 20-plus on blobs and buzzers; Mark Petrie, Dundee, caught seven returned five and kept two weighing 4lb on buzzers; Dave Simpson, Forfar, c&r 18 on various flies; Colin Cameron, Broughty Ferry; c&r 12 on buzzers; Dave Thoms, Carnoustie, c&r 14 on buzzers; Willie Mine, Forfar, c&r 14 on buzzers and dries; Steve Duncan, Forfar, c&r 12 on dries and buzzers; Ian Duncan, Forfar, c&r 14 on buzzers; Scott Emmerson, Arbroath, c&r 12 on buzzers; John Orr, Carnoustie, c&r four on lures; and John Beattie, Carnoustie, c&r four on buzzers.
