Forfarshire won’t be in final stages

FORMER champions Forfarshire are the latest team to miss out on the latter stages of this season’s Clubsport Indoor Sixes League, joining Strathmore and Norwood on the sidelines.

Defeats from both Dundee High School FP and Arbroath United at the Mayfield Sports Centre, Dundee, last Wednesday, March 16, have left ‘Shire languishing second bottom of the table with just 16 points and only two fixtures remaining.

In the two other matches, Rossie Priory defeated High School FP, but lost to Arbroath United, who took full points on the night and now sit joint top of the league with Kinloch.

Results: Dundee High School FP 116, Forfarshire 100; Rossie Priory 109, Arbroath United 110; Rossie Priory 108, Dundee High School FP 84; Arbroath United 136, Forfarshire 97.

Wednesday’s fixtures: 8 p.m. - Kinloch v Cupar; Rossie Priory v Norwood: 9 p.m. - Cupar v Norwood; Rossie Priory v Kinloch.

On the outdoor scene, Forfarshire have received a bye in the first round of the 2011 Scottish Cup and will be away to either Huntly or East Kilbride in the second round. The match will be played on or before Sunday, June 5.
