THE FISHING this week at Forbes of Kingennie has been superb with a real lack of rain meaning all the ponds are very clear and the fishing has really benefited.
The boathouse has produced some very nice fish this past week with the largest being a 9lbs 8oz rainbow taken by Bob Miller.
Lures have taken fish but in the clear water they have been slightly wary and buzzers have been the most consistent method.
The Bankside has really been in form with fish being caught all over the pond on everything from big minkies to small dries. Again buzzers have been the preferred method with a nice average size of fish over 2lbs 8oz with some very nice fish up to 6lbs being caught.
Burnside has continued to be quite steady with white lures and black buzzers taking most fish. Eleven-year-old Robert Gibson had a superb couple of hours on Sunday afternoon taking eight fish in two hours on a white fritz with his biggest fish being a 4lb rainbow closely followed by a 3lb 8oz blue trout.
The Woodside level has dropped slightly but the fish have been on the feed with powerbait taking most fish still, but a lot of fish have started coming out to the spinner now as well.
The are still spaces for the SANA National Bank Championship on Sunday, April 8. Call 01382 350777/350213 to book a space.
